Our Trip to Colorado

What a month, In December I was lucky enough to be awarded a work schedule with the first 12 days off. Unfortunately I was super sick for the first half of that time and I spent a good portion of it in bed sick. When i started to feel better, Brock and I decided at the very last minute to catch a flight out to Colorado Springs to visit Chad and then the rest of the family. So, we had all of two hours to pack, get the kids ready and hop on that flight. I dont know how many of you have traveled with three kids in tow but we had a lot of bags and car seats and toys and stuff everywhere but we made it on the flight without a hitch and 1 hour 38 minutes later Chad was picking us up at the airport. It was around this time I started to get a fever again so the first part of our trip hanging out in Colorado Springs with Chad, I didnt get any pictures. But we had a great time, the kids got to play in the snow which is always a treat for them. We went out to eat and the kids, it seemed, didnt ever want to stop climbing on Uncle Chad. That Sunday, we drove through a blizzard from Springs to Loveland where we had dinner with Grandma Pat. She was going to fly to vegas to visit us the next morning so we eneded up hanging out with her that evening. Grandma made Kaylie's day by getting her one of those hamster toys that come with a ball. She chased that thing around all night.
The next morning we drove out to visit my parents for a couple days. There was so much snow in Ft. Collins it was crazy, the kids were loving it. It was like negative 20 degrees the whole time so we didnt spend a ton of time out in the snow but it was good for the kids. At one point Kade decided to walk out into the snow which was up to his waist, he lost his balance and went face first into it and crawled out of it screaming his head off. I dont think he was a big fan. So the kids got to play with Papa and Grandma Jeannie, we played a mean game of hand and foot (mom and I won much to Brock's frustration...my dad, it turns out, is a terrible hand and foot partner).

So after our visit with my parents we went to stay with Eric and Kristi for a couple days, had dinner at Kristi's dad's house one night and just hung out for a couple days. The girls got to play with their cousin Taya and rough house with their Uncle Eric.

We spent the majority of our trip up in Ft. Morgan, visiting Great Grandma Dorothy and Grandpa Mike and Miss Tina. The kids got to open a few christmas presents, make a giant snow man with Dad, do some arts and crafts with Grandma and make a gingerbread house with Tina. Mostly we just chased Kade around trying to make sure he didnt destroy everything in his path. Grandpa Mike got him a little fire truck with butttons and songs and stuff that he enjoyed and it kept him out of trouble for a little while at least. The second night we were in Ft. Morgan, we went to Great Grandma Dorothy's house for dinner and dessert and opened a few gifts there as well. She made the girls a couple of really cute winter hats and soft pink ponchos. Kade got a hat and some extra booties and some boxcars. After dinner, we went to visit Mary Pat at her house there in Morgan for a bit. Unfortunately I had to leave the next day so I could be back in time for work but Brock and the kids stayed through the weekend and met up with Uncle Chad and Aunt Stephanie again. I took the camera with me when i came home so i dont have pictures of the rest of the weekend but i hear there was a cut throat game of liars dice and more fun in the snow.

It was so crazy because we spend the entire ten days trying to visit everyone that was family that we didnt even have time to call any friends to let them know we were in town. By the time we got home we were all exhausted from our trip but it was such a great time.
